Manchester United player David de Gea has been speaking following the club's defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

In comments given to PA Sport and later published by United’s official website, the Spanish goalkeeper said, “We don’t like to lose – especially in derbies – but we will keep doing what we are doing and try to win the matches coming up.”

De Gea also acknowledged his own fine form, but admitted it was all about the team performances.

“I am playing the best football of my career and I want it to continue,” he added, “but the most important thing is that we all play well as a team.”

In other news, Marouane Fellaini has responded to claims that he spat at City striker Sergio Aguero during the weekend encounter.

“The press loves to invent the stories when there aren’t any,” the Belgian international tweeted. “Thanks the journalists.”

Fellaini is enjoying something of a renaissance under United boss Louis van Gaal, but he could not influence the game to ensure another fine point as he did so effectively against Chelsea recently.
