Manchester City got the better of Manchester United 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Sergio Aguero’s second-half goal proved to be enough for the Citizens to pick up all three points from the Manchester derby.
The game was very competitive in the opening stages, but United went on the back foot seven minutes before the half-time interval when Chris Smalling was sent off for two bookable offences.
Although Louis van Gaal’s side battled well with 10 men, Aguero’s goal on 63 minutes saw them head back home with a defeat. It was the Argentina international striker’s 10th league goal of the season.
City fans were understandably delighted with the derby win and took to social networking site Twitter to revel in the success. Below are the best reactions:
@MCFC Well, we got the points, but it sure wasn't pretty.— Lennart Regebro (@regebro) November 2, 2014
A win's a win. Much needed after our (relatively) poor recent form. Fair play to YaYa - much more like it. Confidence will return #mcfc— Paul Hartley (@mrpaulkhartley) November 2, 2014
Referees were very poor towards City, there a clear three penalties and another two red cards for Rojo and Fellaini #MCFC— Eng.IBRAHIM ALWABEL (@CitizenFc) November 2, 2014
