One of them is Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

‘I’ve been lucky enough to play with some great players, and they are role models to me’, the France international told the Champions Magazine when asked about the most influential player he has worked with.

‘That allows me to grow, to develop both as a footballer and as a human being. I’ve played alongside Ibra at Paris Saint-Germain, with Franck Ribery in the national team, Benzema, Patrice Evra, and now with Steven Gerrard’.

The four players Sakho names are truly great footballers who have been or still are world class.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now at Paris Saint-Germain, is one of the best strikers in the world and remains lethal even at the age of 33.

Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery is one of the best wingers in the world, while Steven Gerrard is a Liverpool legend.

Patrice Evra is probably now past his best, but the Juventus left-back was one of the best in his position during his time at Manchester United.

As for Karim Benzema, the Frenchman is a deadly striker who is getting better and better at Real Madrid.

Sakho is 24 years of age and has not been at his best since joining Liverpool from PSG in the summer of 2013 for a reported transfer fee of £15 million, but it seems that he looks up to the right players to inspire him.
