Atari’s next installment in the Alone In The Dark franchise brings online co-op to the series for the first time.
Alone In The Dark: Illumination has received a new trailer in the run up to its release in “Fall 2014”. The sixth game in the Alone In The Dark series, Illumination picks up the survival horror action some six years on from the last Alone In The Dark title.
Illumination sets play amidst the abandoned mining town of Lorwich, once a flourishing hive of industry, now a ghost town after a flood laid waste to the mining facility,
Illumination lets players choose from four different character classes - Hunter, Priest, Witch and Engineer - on a mission to uncover what caused the accident that brought Lorwich to ruin while also investigating reports of a mysterious fog and strange creatures that haunt the town.
Online co-op play is available in Illumination allowing all four classes to be used, each with their own differing abilities.
As you set about your investigations you’ll be faced with the ever present threat of the game’s main enemy - the darkness -which can manifest itself in various ways, including fog, apparitions and dangerous demons.
Alone in the Dark: Illumination is currently only due to come to PC and can be pre-ordered now via Steam.
