Arturo Vidal continued to impress over the weekend, showing he is getting back to his best.
After much debate about his fitness, Chilean international Arturo Vidal is getting back to his best.
The central midfielder was magnificent at the weekend as Juventus registered a 2-0 win away to Empoli to tighten their grip at the top of Serie A.
Andrea Pirlo and Alvaro Morata scored the goals but it was Vidal whose energy in the centre of midfield which made the win so comfortable.
Vidal completed 93 per cent of his passes, and won seven tackles, by far the highest number of any Juventus player.
The next highest in the squad was a number of players who won two tackles, with the squad without Vidal making only 13 combined.
As well as making one interception, Vidal had one two shots at goal and created two goalscoring chances, dominating the midfield.
It was exactly the type of performance Juventus expect from him, and the sort which had Manchester United linked with his services all summer.
It will be hard to sign him mid-season, but he is intent on brushing the injury worries aside and showing why he is so highly regarded in Turin, and his form may just cause the Red Devils to revisit their interest in January or next summer.
