Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has revealed what manager Mauricio Pochettino told him before he came on as a substitute against Aston Villa.
The 21-year-old replaced Emmanuel Adebayor just before the hour mark with Spurs 1-0 down at Villa Park in the Premier League clash on Sunday.
It came as a surprise to many that the England Under-21 did not start the encounter, but it did not matter much in the end as it was the youngster who scored the winner.

Kane’s 90th-minute deflected free kick saw Spurs complete thecomeback against a 10-man Villa side and register a 2-1 win.
‘He just said to play’, the striker told Sky Sports when asked what Pochettino told him before he came on. ‘There’s plenty of time left. Get the chances and take one, and obviously fortunately I was able to do that’.
Kane stole the spotlight on Sunday and deservedly so. With Adebayor and Roberto Soldado both struggling for goals, it is high time that Spurs boss Pochettino puts more faith in the Englishman and gives him starts in the Premier League.
