Iago Falque got off the mark for Genoa today - and bagged an assist as well.
One player that Tottenham Hotspur have always believed to be very talented was their young Spaniard Iago Falque. The flying winger has an illustrious history. Spells at Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona were the precursor to his Spurs arrival in 2012.
But he struggled with injury problems at White Hart Lane and the Hulk lookalike had relatively forgetful campaigns with Southampton and Almeria before a more productive time at Rayo Vallecano last season.
Now, at the age of 24, it was time for Spurs to decide to either give him a go, or the heave-ho this summer. They went with the latter.
This summer it was confirmed by Italian side Genoa that they had signed Falque - with reports of a £4 million doing the rounds.
But the former Tottenham winger has struggled to have a significant impact since his arrival in Italy. He has recently been panned for a series of underwhelming performances for the club.
But today he was certainly much better as he scored his first goal for the club.
The ex-Spurs man scored as Genoa defeated Udinese away in Serie A, his strike the second for the club in a 4-2 triumph.
He was not done there either. He bagged an assist for Alessandro Matri in the 54th minute as he finally looks to be living up to expectations in the Italian top-flight.
