Former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez made his debut for Barcelona last weekend against Real Madrid in El Clasico.
It was the 27-year-old’s first competitive appearance since the 2014 World Cup following a four-month ban.
Suarez provided the assist for Barca’s opening goal against Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, but Luis Enrique’s side eventually lost 3-1.
On Saturday, Suarez started once again in the league, this time against Celta Vigo at Camp Nou.
Barcelona were overwhelming favourites heading into the encounter, but they suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat.
Joaquin Larrivey’s goal in the 55th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides. Lionel Messi and Neymar both hit the woordwork twice, while Suarez missed as many as two good chances.
Suarez’s performance, just like Barcelona’s, was not exactly bad, but failure to take the chances was what ultimately cost the Catalan giants the points.
