This summer Liverpool reluctantly agreed to allow Luis Suarez his dream move to Barcelona of La Liga. The Uruguayan had just come off the back of yet another controversial biting incident and the powers at be at Liverpool decided it best that Suarez was moved on while they had the chance.
Of course, he remains a hero among the fans.
He scored an incredible 82 goals in 133 appearances for Liverpool before they flogged him for around £75 million this summer - and when he left he made it clear he still loved the club - and the fans.
But now he is a Barca player and it is Barca he loves.
Although, it has been a tough start to his career. After having to sit out the start of the season because of a FIFA suspension, issued for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup, he made his comeback against Real Madrid in El Clasico last weekend.
Unfortunately, they lost, but there is no shame in that - Real are the reigning Champions League winners.
However, defeat at home to Celta Vigo yesterday was less forgiveable.
But Suarez knows Barca have what it takes to turn things around.
In pleading for a little bit of leeway from the fans, he made it clear what he felt of Barcelona's stature in the world game.
He said, in quotes translated by Inside Spanish Football:
“They [the fans] must have confidence in us, no one wants to turn things around quicker than we do. We want to win titles because we are the best team in the world.”
Liverpool are certainly not the best team in the world at the moment. Defeat to Newcastle yesterday again highlighted just how badly they miss the prowess of the talented striker.
Instead they have Mario Balotelli - who is not having the same impact - while Suarez continues playing for the team he dubs the best.
