Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has won league titles, cups, the World Cup and the European Championship, but he has not won the Champions League.
And that’s the trophy that he wants to win next.
Speaking to the Champions Magazine, the Spain international said: ‘It is important; the Champions League is the competition I still need to win.
‘It would give me enormous satisfaction. We have a great team. I do not know if it will happen this year, next year or in the next five years. That is football’.
Fabregas came closest to clinching the Champions League back in 2006 when he was at Arsenal. The Gunners took the lead against Barcelona in the final in Paris, but conceded twice thereafter to lose the encounter 2-1.
During his three years at Barcelona, Fabregas reached the semi-finals but not the final.
Now at Chelsea, the Spaniard seems determined to taste Champions League success. Jose Mourinho’s side are one of the favourites and have a truly strong squad to compete for the title this term.
