Aston Villa’s Gabriel Agbonlahor confident of win v Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League

Gabriel Agbonlahor believes that Aston Villa will score against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League today.

Aston Villa winger Gabriel Agbonlahor has warned Tottenham Hotspur that they are determined to win today.

The Villans will host the North London outfit at Villa Park in the Premier League this afternoon.

Paul Lambert’s side have been struggling in recent weeks and have lost five league games in a row. In the defeats to Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton and Queens Park Rangers, Villa have not scored a single goal.

On paper Tottenham are a better team, but Agbonlahor is confident that Villa will pick up all three points against Spurs.

‘People are going on about the fact we've not scored in five games but you realise sometimes you go through those stages’, the 28-year-old told Villa’s official website.

‘If we weren't creating chances then we would worry. We will carry on what we are doing every day in training and the goals will come.

‘And when the goals come people will be saying it's just a few games and the goals are back. And we as a team always come back...

‘When you've not scored in five games, the whole team and squad want to put that right. Whoever plays will be giving 100 per cent to get rid of that record.

‘We've had a lot of tough games but it is not a nice record to have. We will be giving everything we've got to get it right until the last minute against Spurs’.

Villa will head into today’s match placed 15th in the Premier League table with 10 points from nine matches, while Tottenham are a point and a place above them.

The North London outfit themselves have been struggling in recent weeks and have suffered with inconsistencies.

Spurs will probably be the favourites for today’s match, but Villa should not be written off.
