Manchester City midfielder will be glad Radamel Falcao is injured.

Ballon d'Or nominee Yaya Toure has praised Manchester United loanee Radamel Falcao, and will be relieved to see him miss the upcoming derby.

The City midfielder was speaking at a sponsorship event for Nissan, when he picked out the Colombian as one of the best five signings this summer, along with £60m United signing Angel di Maria and his Real Madrid replacement.

He said: "Definitely Di Maria and Rodriguez. Rodriguez was a fantastic one.

“And as well Manchester United with the move for Falcao. He is a great striker, unbelievable.”

What is really unbelievable was the fact United managed to snap him up on loan, but unfortunately for the Red Devils, he misses a second consecutive game at the weekend with an injury, as confirmed by Louis van Gaal in his Friday press conference.

Toure also named Alvaro Negredo as one of the five, lamenting City's choice to send him on loan to Valencia, also surprisingly, Mario Balotelli.

"I hope he is going to do well with Liverpool because he has been involved in a few problems in the past year.

“But I think this year he is coming more mature and he can control all of that.“
