The 17-year-old scored in the 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur's Under-21 side.
Jordan Rossiter's rise continues. And the 17-year-old is going about things in just the right way.
After a dream debut for Liverpool's senior side, the academy prospect has returned to the club's Under-21s and got on with his football without a fuss.
And, yesterday, Rossiter was at his best once again as he scored the winner for the Reds against Tottenham's Under-21s.
Ryan Kent opened the scoring with a superb free-kick on 27 minutes, before Spurs hit back through Will Miller. Rossiter, though, was on hand to fire home the winner for Liverpool's young side, taking them up to sixth in division one of the Under-21 Barclays Premier League. A host of other talents were involved, including Jordan Williams, who also played in the same Capital One Cup tie for the senior side as Rossiter.
Just days previously, 17-year-old Rossiter had been reflecting on his Liverpool debut...
“I look back now and think it couldn’t have gone any better to be honest,” the midfielder told the Liverpool Echo.
“To score 10 minutes into my debut at Anfield was such a great feeling. It really was a dream come true. When it dropped to me I thought ‘You’ve got to hit it, just get it on target’ and thankfully it went in.
“It’s something I’ll always look back on, no matter what happens for the rest of my life.”
At this rate, however, Rossiter will have plenty to look forward to as well. Here are the best pictures from his side's victory on Friday night!
