Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has said that he is ‘not convinced’ by the current Tottenham Hotspur team.
Owen made the comments ahead of Spurs’ Premier League clash against Aston Villa away from home on Sunday.
‘Villa have an appalling recent record losing five on the bounce without scoring a goal and their record against the north London side doesn’t make great reading either given they haven’t beaten Spurs in their last 11 PL games and have failed to find the back of the net in the last four!’ the 34-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com. ‘It all points to an away win but I’m not convinced about this Spurs side and this is a game Villa just can’t afford to lose’.
Owen goes on to claim that the match at Villa Park will end in a draw.
Many Tottenham fans will disagree with Owen, but at the moment it cannot be said for certain that the North London club will win on Sunday.
On paper Spurs are the better team, but they have struggled in recent weeks and have also suffered from inconsistencies.
However, Mauricio Pochettino is a manager who knows how to get results in the most difficult of circumstances, and Tottenham will head to Villa Park as the favourites.
