Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea believes that his side can defeat Manchester City on Sunday.
Louis van Gaal’s side will head into the Manchester derby on the back of a 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford in the Premier League last weekend.
United needed an injury-time equaliser to rescue a point against the Blues, but De Gea is confident of a win against their city rivals on Sunday.
‘I think we played really well against a really very good team’, the Spain international told United’s official website. ‘We could have won but we scored in the last minute and gained confidence from the game. We are playing better in every game. If we play well and keep the ball like always, then we can beat Manchester City’.
It will not be easy to win against City, who have been struggling in recent weeks and will be determined to pick up momentum. However, United have quality players and a manager who knows how to win big games.
