CONFIRMED: Newcastle United v Liverpool line-ups - Strong team from Rodgers!

Here are the sides as Newcastle United host Liverpool in the Premier League.

Newcastle United: Krul, Janmaat, S.Taylor, Coloccini, Dummett, Sissoko, Abeid, Colback, Obertan, Cisse, Ameobi

Subs: Elliot, Haidara, R.Taylor, Aarons, Cabella, Gouffran, Perez

Liverpool: Mignolet, Johnson, Moreno, Lovren, Skrtel, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Balotelli

Subs: Jones, Toure, Manquillo, Lallana, Can, Lambert, Borini

This is one of the most difficult games to call this weekend because while Liverpool hold a better Premier League position, Newcastle go into the game off the back of a win against Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle always enjoy brilliant home support and they should get right behind Alan Pardew’s side, as they look to continue their improvement on a disappointing start to the season.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will have one eye on the Champions League game against Real Madrid this week, but it’s important his side try and put three points on the board and start moving in the right direction.

Last weekend saw a 0-0 draw against Hull City, which was followed by a gritty win in the League Cup. It’s a great chance for Steven Gerrard to show why a new contract for him should be the club’s key priority.
