Here is the Leeds United under-18 side to take on Nottingham Forest this morning.
Leeds United under-18s: Peacock-Farrell, Berry, Assenso, Vann, Pearce, Rollinson, Lyman, Mulhern, Mbanje, Bell, McDaid
Subs: Ian Molloy, Ryan Ferguson, Moise Kroma, Mallik Wilks, Jake Croft
Leeds United have one of the best youth team setups in the country, which provides the younger players at the club with a chance to express themselves and impress coaches at the club at higher levels.
The problem for the under-18 side in the Northern section of the Professional Development League 2 has been inconsistency.
The side is currently sixth in their group, which has come because of injuries to key players and five defeats out of the first ten games.
The attack has been impressive, scoring more goals than the two teams immediately above them in the table with 17, but the defence has leaked 18 goals, with only two teams having conceded more this season.
Neil Redfearn may have moved on to coach the first team but his connection with the academy more than likely means he’ll be mulling over the results of the youth teams on a regular basis.
