Bolton fans react on Twitter to 'shocking' Beckford performance v Norwich

Jermaine Beckford

The Bolton & former Leeds striker was the subject of fierce criticism from his fans after their 2-1 loss to the Canaries.

Jermaine Beckford may not want to read what supporters thought about his display against Norwich City last night.

Beckford's Bolton Wanderers side lost 2-1 to Neil Adams' Norwich team, who are now up to third in the Championship.

And boss Neil Lennon admits his side were 'second best' throughout.

"That's the benchmark and that's what we strive to be, where Norwich are," Lennon is quoted as saying by Sky Sports after the game.

"We lacked a bit of legs in midfield, a bit of physicality and our two centre-halves struggled against their strikers.

"We were second best and Norwich deserved to win the game."

And Lennon was hardly helped by Beckford - according to Bolton fans anyway.

One supporter branded the former Leeds man's performance as 'shocking,' although the criticism he received from others suggests his poor form should come as no shock at all.

Cameron Jerome showed what a clinical striker can produce by scoring a match-winning brace for the Canaries - but the Trotters were not so lucky with Beckford.

The 30-year-old has not lasted more than two seasons at a club since leaving Leeds United but Bolton fans seem indifferent about him continuing at the club.

Here are the best (worst as far as the striker will be concerned) fan reactions on Twitter...
