Sheffield Wednesday are very close to making another signing according to Stuart Gray.
The side's poor run of form has forced Gray into trying to bring in additions to his squad and it seems a new arrival could be on his way.
This is likely to be an attacker as Everton recalled Hallam Hope from his loan spell at Hillsborough last week.
Wednesday have already brought in Gary Taylor-Fletcher on a temporary move from Leicester City recently, but Gray is clearly trying to add more quality to his squad.
The Owls have lacked a goalscoring threat so far this season, scoring just 11 times in their first 14 games of the campaign, and this is an area where they are in desperate need of improvement.
Gray feels that they will start showing more attacking quality if he is able to bring in his intended targets, as they will enhance the quality of the squad.
“We are very close [to making a signing]," he said to the Sheffield Telegraph. "We are now relying on the individual or the player’s agent giving us the green light.
“If I can get a couple of players in who I want, I think they will improve us and we will cause teams problems.”
Despite their lack of goals, Wednesday's defensive solidarity has seen them collect a credible number of points so far.
The Owls are not too far off the playoff spots and they will be looking to close the gap this weekend.
The Yorkshire side take on Charlton Athletic this weekend and they will be determined to get the three points to break out of their current slump in form.
