The top five players linked with signing for Chelsea this week: Pique, Miranda and more

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, Roma and Wolfsburg stars all feature.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had a great summer in terms of the transfer market and the Blues continue to be linked with a variety of top players in various positions.

Chelsea’s squad seems relatively settled but that hasn’t stopped the rumour linking Chelsea with some extremely good and experienced stars over the course of the past week.

Here are five of the best names linked with Stamford Bridge moves.

Gerard Pique (Barcelona)

Pique’s role at Barcelona this season has created the idea that he could leave the club, with the Blues thought to be the first movers for his signature, with reports of an offer close to the £30 million mark from the club.

Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint-Germain)

Cavani is one of Europe’s top strikers who consistently gets linked with moves away from PSG. Chelsea are one of the teams thought to be interested in him although he’s just reiterated, again, that he’s not looking to leave the French giants.

Joao Miranda (Atletico Madrid)

Miranda is one of several Atletico Madrid players who was linked with a move to Chelsea over the summer. A deal never happened but talk of potential interest from Manchester United has led to reports suggesting Chelsea could revitalise their interest.

Mattia Destro (Roma)

Destro was first linked with Chelsea when there was speculation over Fernando Torres’ future, with the Italian deemed Torres’ most likely replacement ahead of his move to AC Milan. Those links haven’t gone away with Destro recently refusing to rule out leaving Roma.

Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg)

One of the less believable rumours involving Chelsea from the past week. The Blues don’t have a need for another left sided defender, but there are reports suggesting they could battle against Wolfsburg’s desire to keep him before his contract expires in 2016.
