Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho understands the importance of the Queens Park Rangers rivalry and so Diego Costa will likely start the derby.

Jose Mourinho understands the history and intensity of the West London derby and so he will likely play reliable goal-scorer Diego Costa.

The former Atletico Madrid striker has been in the physio's room with a recurring hamstring injury, while the Spanish national football team instead claim he is not hamstrung but, rather, suffering from a groin complaint.

Despite the effectiveness of Didier Drogba in Costa and Loic Remy's absence, Diego could return to the starting line-up against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

Sky Sports football analyst Paul Merson said: "QPR beat Aston Villa on Monday night, which was a good result, but they were at home against a team that couldn’t score a goal for toffee.

"I think Chelsea are head and shoulders above them and I think they will win."

He continued: "Will they rest Diego Costa? I think he will play if he is fit because this is a big West London derby and Jose Mourinho will know how important it is for the fans."
