Daniel Sturridge took time out from his training to get back into the Liverpool first team to spend time with the under-7 side.
Sturridge, one of the highest profile members of Brendan Rodgers’ first team, showed his teammates how it should be done as he mixed with the youngsters currently on the books at Melwood.
It can be very easy for top flight players not to give too much attention to the youth ranks at a club because of the personal pressure they are under to succeed individually.
However, that doesn’t appear to be the case with Sturridge who went out of his way to give the youngsters a little bit of inspiration as they grow up, looking to progress and develop constantly as they go through the age groups.
Liverpool have one of the best youth systems in the country and if other Liverpool stars follow Sturridge’s lead, the youngsters will have memories to value, a unique insight and something to aspire to for the rest of the season.
