Andreas Pereira has been spotted training with the Manchester United first team on Friday.

Manchester United have been training today ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Under the watchful eyes of manager Louis van Gaal, the players went through the drills as they stepped up the preparations for the Manchester derby on Sunday.

One of the academy graduates who was spotted training with the first team today was Andreas Pereira. The 18-year-old creative midfielder has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League, but he has featured in the League Cup for the Red Devils.

The Brazil Under-20 international is rated as a very promising player and is believed to have a very bright future.

Van Gaal has shown throughout his career that he is open to giving chances to talented young players and has continued that trend at United.

Paddy McNair, Tom Thorpe and Tyler Blackett have all made their Premier League debuts this season, and perhaps it is Pereira’s time now.

However, Van Gaal is unlikely to field the teenager against City in such a massive game. A defeat at the Etihad would be hugely detrimental to United’s chances of a top-four finish in the Premier League.
