Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has been singing the praises of Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.
The Croatia international was a key player in Los Blancos’s success over Liverpool and Barcelona last week.
Modric, formerly at Tottenham Hotspur, was an influential figure in both games and has been recognised for his brilliance by Scholes.
‘My player of the weekend (and the previous week) was Luka Modric’, the 39-year-old wrote in The Independent.
‘His performances for Real Madrid against Liverpool and Barcelona were the perfect example of how to control the middle of the park. Not easy teams to do it against, but he was brilliant in both games’.
Modric is one of the best players in the Madrid team and is now far removed from the struggling footballer one saw in the 2012-13 season.
