A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester City.

Manchester City midfielder David Silva is out of the Manchester derby with a knee injury.

The Spaniard was forced off during the League Cup game against Newcastle earlier this week.

Initial reports suggest he’ll be out of action for around three weeks.

Stevan Jovetic says City have to improve heading into the derby game this weekend.

The striker has suggested that City fans should be confident ahead of the game, with City likely to show their ‘real faces’.

“We need to improve. I am sure we are going to show our real face against United,” said the striker.

Former Manchester United captain Bryan Robson has suggested that current side are as talented as Manchester City.

That’s despite City holding the Premier League title and a superior league position this season.

“We've got some great players, the same as City as well. The forward players, [Angel] Di Maria, [Radamel] Falcao, [Robin] van Persie, [Wayne] Rooney, [Juan] Mata. There's a lot of pace and ability in there,” he said.
