Sunderland's Steven Fletcher fit to face Crystal Palace on Monday

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has confirmed that striker Steven Fletcher is fit to face Crystal Palace after picking up an injury against Arsenal last weekend.

Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher is fit to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday, after limping off in last weekend's 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Stadium of Light with a foot injury.

The Black Cats are looking to put their past two defeats behind them on Monday night, and will aim to move out of the relegation zone with victory over the Eagles.

Manager Gus Poyet confirmed that Fletcher has been in training this week, but the side are still without Emanuele Giaccherini, Ricky Alvarez, Billy Jones and Sebastian Coates.

He's quoted by the Sunderland website: “Steven is perfect, no problem. He has trained for the last two days and is completely recovered.”

“The other guys are getting closer, but not now, so we need to wait."

A victory over Neil Warnock's side would see them leapfrog their opponents who will be keen to put their recent disappointment behind them, when they threw away a two goal lead against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
