A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.
Mauricio Pochettino was annoyed with Erik Lamela before he was brought on as a second half substitute for Aaron Lennon last night.
Lamela took a comfort break, with his boss angry over how long the Argentine took before he could come on in the win against Brighton.
“When we arrived at the dressing room they knew about Lennon’s injury so I wanted Lamela on. After that he went to go to the toilet and we had to wait for him to come out,” explained the boss.
Aaron Lennon has played down fears surrounding a hamstring problem, which was the reason he was taken off last night.
However, he confirmed after the game that the problem isn’t a severe one and he hopes to be okay.
“Gutted to come off with slight hammy but should be OK in no time,” he said on Twitter.
Pochettino has also said that he feels the League Cup is a realistic competition for Spurs to target.
The side face a last eight clash against Newcastle United, after they defeated Manchester City.
“Getting into the quarter-final was the objective, so we are happy. All potential trophies are realistic for us [to win],” said the manager.
