QPR latest: Wright-Phillips will stay put, 20-year-old midfielder leaves on loan

The latest Queens Park Rangers transfer news, views and rumours.

Shaun Wright-Phillips

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that Shaun Wright-Phillips has rejected the opportunity to leave the club on loan.

According to Redknapp, the 33-year-old has been offered the chance to join another side on a temporary basis but instead prefers to stay at Loftus Road and fight for his place in the team.

Wright-Phillips has found game time limited this season, not yet featuring in the Premier League.

But Redknapp says the forward has chosen to stay with the R's and is ready to contribute for the team if called upon.

"He's still here," the QPR manager told reporters. "He's in the squad so he's got to keep working hard to try and get in the team.

"He's had opportunities to go on loan that he didn't fancy. If he's called upon, he won't let you down."

Frankie Sutherland

However, 20-year-old midfielder Frankie Sutherland has taken up the opportunity of a loan move, joining AFC Wimbledon on loan.

The QPR midfielder will play at Kingsmeadow on a short-term deal until November 29th.
