Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka: Tottenham Hotspur-owned Milos Veljkovic should learn from Ryan Fredericks and Kenneth Omeruo

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka says that Ryan Fredericks and Kenneth Omeruo are good examples for Milos Veljkovic.

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has advised Milos Veljkovic to follow the examples of Ryan Fredericks and Kenneth Omeruo.

Serbia Under-21 international defender Veljkovic joined the Championship outfit from Tottenham Hotspur on a short-term loan deal earlier this month.

The 19-year-old is highly rated and has played twice for Spurs in the Premier League since his move from FC Basel in 2011, but he has yet to make an appearance for Middlesbrough.

Karanka, though, has assured the teenager that he will get chances and has advised him to learn from Fredericks and Omeruo.

‘I said to him that Ryan (Fredericks) and Ken (Omeruo) are good examples because both of them didn’t play at the beginning and when they got their chances they both took them and kept playing in the first 11’, The Northern Echo quotes the Spaniard as saying.

Fredericks moved to Middlesbrough on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham in August, while fellow defender Omeruo has been part of the Championship squad since January 2014 following a loan move from Chelsea.

Both are in their 20s and have a bright future ahead of them, and it is indeed good advice from Karanka to Veljkovic to learn from the duo.
