The 19-year-old pair have made a distinct impact on the Gunners after breaking into the first team this season, Chambers after joining from Southampton, Bellerin after moving up from the academy.
And Keown thinks Arsene Wenger could be relying on the young duo for many years to come.
Asked what he thought about Chambers' progress during a 'Tackle Keown' session on the Daily Mail website, Keown said:
"I think he’s done remarkably well. He’s only 19 and he couldn’t have dreamed of a better start – playing for England and playing for Arsenal. He might have thought he’d play the odd game but he has been featured throughout.
"Personally I would play him at centre half, possibly with Hector Bellerin as they could be playing for a few years together. I think that Chambers will eventually play in the middle of the pitch, most likely at centre half. But he could even do a job eventually in that deep midfield role.
"At the moment Arsenal don’t have the same strength in defence as they do in midfield so he is better suited in there. But I do see him more as a centre half than a full back."
