Italian international full-back Matteo Darmian is said to be on Manchester United's radar, but he is unlikely to be a cheap option.
At the age of 24, Darmian is still developing but is already in the Italian national set-up and performing excellently in Serie A.
Darmian netted his first Serie A goal for Torino against Parma yesterday, the only goal of the game, and admitted afterwards that he didn't know what to do after he saw it go in.
Torino are a modest club in financial terms and have often had to sell off their prized assets when they outgrow the club, such as Alessio Cerci, who joined Atletico Madrid in the summer, and Ciro Immobile who went to Borussia Dortmund.
Italian sources suggest that Darmian's value is steadily rising and is now around the £10 million mark. By the time an offer could arrive in January, he may be worth much more.
If Manchester United saw Darmian as a possible bargain then they may have to think again.
