Manchester United morning news: Scouts spotted in France, who were they watching?

Old Trafford 3

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester United.

Manchester United scouts were present at the match between Rennes and Marseille last night.

It is possible they were watching Marseille pair Giannelli Imbula and Florian Thauvin, who the club have both been linked with as Louis van Gaal mulls over possible winter moves.

Manchester United duo David De Gea and Marouane Fellaini have been named in a European team of the week.

De Gea made several key saves in the draw against Chelsea, while Fellaini effectively kept Cesc Fabregas out of the game for the whole match.

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson claims Michael Carrick’s absence is hurting the club.

Carrick has only just returned to a state of match fitness having picked up an injury during pre-season.

“Michael's been a big miss to United. When he was injured last season he was a big loss to us and again this season,” said Robson.
