Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has been singing the praises of Iago Aspas.
Striker Aspas was in great form on Wednesday as he scored a hat-trick to lead Sevilla to a 6-1 victory over Sabadell in the first leg of their Copa del Rey last-32 tie.
The 27-year-old, who joined the Seville outfit on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, scored in the 43rd, 80th and 93rd minute at the Nova Creu Alta.
Enrique was following the match, and after full time he waxed lyrical over Aspas’s performance.
‘Congratulations @aspas10 you’re a phenomenon’, the 28-year-old Spanish left-back wrote on social networking site Twitter. ‘3 goals today. I’m happy for you. You deserve it’.
Aspas joined Liverpool from Celta Vigo in the summer of 2013, but he failed to establish himself in manager Brendan Rodgers’s team.
Now at Sevilla, Aspas is looking to recover the form he showed at Celta.
