Famous goal poacher sees striking similarities in Tottenham's latest breakthrough star.
Former Tottenham striking legend Gary Lineker has hailed young forward Harry Kane.
The former England international had taken to Twitter after the youngster struck the second goal in the Capital One Cup win over Brighton in midweek, to praise his enthusiasm.
Lineker said he saw a sign in Kane, of the desire which is crucial to players becoming successful in the position.
Like the way Kane busted a gut to get in the box to score. Great desire which is essential in a goal scorer.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) October 29, 2014
Lineker's comments highlight why Kane is so popular, not taking into account even his hot goalscoring streak.
The Spurs youngster may never reach the peaks of a Ballon d'Or winner in terms of natural talent, but his determination to succeed can make him an important force at Premier League and even potentially international level.
Kane's desire to latch onto the end of passes, shows a willingness which has at times been lacking in experienced forward Emmanuel Adebayor's game, while Roberto Soldado seems to lack the belief that he can be the striker Tottenham bought him to be.
