Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been singing the praises of striker Samuel Eto’o.
The Cameroonian joined the Toffees on a two-year contract in the summer transfer window as a free agent.
Former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker Eto’o has been in fine form for Everton so far this season, scoring three goals in five Premier League appearances while having a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 60%.
Eto’o has been a very good addition to the Everton team and, despite being 33 years of age, the ex-Chelsea man remains as clinical as ever in front of goal.
Having won pretty much everything he could have won in his club career, there were suggestions that three-time Champions League winner Eto’o may be taking it lightly at Everton.
However, Everton boss Martinez has hailed Eto’o as a hard-working player who is committed to the cause.
RM: "@setoo9 feels excited and really stimulated to show everyone what he can do. He's enjoying his football and he does it in style."— Everton (@Everton) October 30, 2014
Eto’o may be past his best, but the former Real Madrid striker remains an important player who still retains his ability to score goals.
Everton’s ambitions this season are to break into the top four of the Premier League, and Eto’o is an important player for that objective.
