Manchester City will host fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday in what promises to be the key fixture of the Premier League this weekend.
Manchester City, who sit six points behind leaders Chelsea, will be desperate to not lose sight of Jose Mourinho's side and will bill this game as one of their biggest of the season for many different reasons.
Manchester United, too, will be desperate to build on their encouraging result and performance against Chelsea and climb a few places in the league to at least be knocking on the door of the top four after the weekend is through.
Two players in the game that can help seal that ambition this weekend are Angel di Maria and David Silva; the renowned playmakers of their respective teams.
We take a look at how they match up statistically this season:
Angel di Maria, after such a strong start to life in the Premier League, dominates Silva in almost every category despite playing 174 minutes less than his Spanish adversary.
More goals, more assists, more shots on target and more attempted assists than Silva shows the United man to be the more effective during games, although Silva's rate of getting on the ball and passing accurately shows just how important he is to Manchester City's current system.
Silva, on numerous occasions, has proven to be a difficult opponent for Manchester United and given their defensive inefficiencies at the moment, he will likely fancy himself to make an impact on the game. That is if he isn't ruled out through injury.
As for Di Maria, it's a chance to make a big stride to becoming a Manchester United favourite and a good performance against their local-rivals does seem like the fitting next step in his fledgling career at Old Trafford.
