A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.
Mauricio Pochettino says he puts Tottenham’s problems down to playing on a small pitch at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have had time to mull over what went wrong during the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United last weekend.
“Our style means we need a bigger space to play because we play a positional game. It’s true that White Hart Lane is a little bit tight and it’s better for the opponent when they play deep. On Sunday there were two shots from Newcastle – it was unlucky for us,” the boss is quoted by the Guardian.
Pochettino has also revealed that he won’t let his players see psychologists if they feel they need one.
The reason; because he feels as though he can act as the remedy for any player that needs to chat about problems.
“I think we are the psychologists! The players want to hear the manager and the staff, the assistant manager, the goalkeeper coach. We can help them,” said the boss.
Ben Davies says it’s frustrating for him that he’s not had more first team chances at Tottenham.
Davies has struggled to get into the team ahead of Danny Rose following a summer move from Swansea.
“It would be silly of me to say that it's not sometimes hard and frustrating for me. But you put those feelings aside for the benefit of the club, you can't let them affect your football,” he told Sky Sports News.
