Cech, Drogba and company react to Chelsea League Cup win

Chelsea defeated Shrewsbury Town in the Capital One Cup tie last night.

Chelsea are through to the next round of the Capital One Cup after being pushed all the way by League Two side Shrewsbury Town last night.

The game at The New Meadow was expected to be an easy one for the Premier League table-toppers. However they struggled to overcome their plucky hosts, with fringe players struggling to perform at their highest level.

There were also appearances for youngsters such as Nathan Ake, Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma - but it was the old guard who saved the day.

Didier Drogba arrived at the club in the summer for a second spell and he was in top form last night. He scored the opener for Chelsea before forcing Jermaine Grandison into putting the ball past his own keeper to avoid extra-time in Shropshire.

Drogba was just one of a few Chelsea players who took to social media after the game to express their relief, and joy, at making it to the next round against opposition billed as minnows.
