Andy Carroll reveals which West Ham signing he is most excited about working with

The West Ham striker could soon return from injury - and has singled out who he is most looking forward to playing alongside.

Andy Carroll says he 'can't wait' to play alongside West Ham United full-back Aaron Cresswell.

The Hammers striker could finally be set to return from injury troubles, although he faces plenty of competition for places up front at Upton Park.

But Carroll is excited to return nevertheless - and has singled Cresswell out as someone he is particularly looking forward to working with, due to his excellent deliveries from out wide.

"We scored three headers at Burnley and another on Saturday with Cresswell crossing the ball in. He whips them in and puts them on a plate, so I can't wait to be involved with that," Carroll told West Ham's official website.

"Yes, the service that everyone is putting in the box to create chances has been great. That's what I thrive on."

Aaron Cresswell West Ham DF 15 6 9 810
Mark Noble West Ham MF 11 9 7 630

As Opta stats show, Cresswell has delivered six accurate crosses so far this season but, more importantly, has created 15 chances for Sam Allardyce's side.

No West Ham player has made more except Stewart Downing.

Those statistics bode well for target man Carroll. But can he offer the Hammers anything they don't already have in Enner Valencia, Carlton Cole and Diafra Sakho?
