Newcastle United have been handed a gauntlet run in the Capital One Cup.
The club may have only recently been at the foot of the Premier League table, but recent results indicate that their form is not only drastically improving, but that they are also capable of putting together a commendable cup run.
After all, this is the club who not only had to see off Crystal Palace in extra time of a third round clash, but then slayed a behemoth of modern British football - Manchester City, at their own ground no less.
Now, Newcastle United face another test - as they have been drawn into a quarter-final with Tottenham Hotspur.
"If we're going to win this competition we're going to have to do it the hard way because we've done an outstanding job tonight and that's really what I want to talk about," manager Alan Pardew explained to Sky Sports after their fourth round triumph over City.
He continued: "It's important for us that we just keep this momentum going. We saved a couple tonight on purpose for Liverpool so we look forward to that.
"They've won as well so that makes for a really good game at the weekend and we aren't looking any further than that."
