Ayoze Perez was handed two awards last night at the Liga de Futbol Profesional prize ceremony in Spain last night.
The Newcastle United man was handed awards for being Liga Adelante’s best breakthrough player as well as being named the top attacking midfielder outside the Spanish top-flight last season when he was playing for Tenerife.
It capped off a fine week for Perez, who was the hero for his side this weekend and indicated his talent.
The 21-year-old scored the winner as Newcastle came from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and this awarded ceremony should have boosted his confidence even more.
Perez revealed that he rejected moves to Barcelona and Real Madrid to go to St. James' Park and he is starting to show why he is so highly rated.
The Magpies will now be hoping that he can build on his first goal in English football and continue scoring for them in the future.
Perez's next chance to do this is likely to be at the weekend when the side face Liverpool, as he is expected to be rested for their League Cup game against Manchester City in midweek.
