Manchester City morning news: Kolarov on respecting United, Navas 'hurting'

Manchester City defender Aleksander Kolarov says his club must respect Manchester United this weekend.

The Manchester derby between the two teams is slightly in favour of city who have the better record so far this season.

“United are always [a threat]. They are a great club with a great history and if you don’t respect them a lot they are going to beat you,” the Serbian told talkSPORT.

Winger Jesus Navas says the team are hurting after defeat to West Ham last weekend.

Manchester City were edged out 2-1 by the in form West Ham United at Upton Park as Chelsea gained another point in the title race.

“Of course we are hurting. We have great players and are disappointed by the result, but we just need to keep going and put it right for the fans,” Navas told MEN.

Celtic boss Ronny Deila has admitted he wants Manchester City loanee John Guidetti to stay at the club.

The striker has recently said that he’s aiming to win four pieces of silverware with Celtic this season.

“It’s like it has clicked between Celtic and John. One thing I know in football is that, when you are at the right club, you have to appreciate what you have - So far, we have done that with John and done that together with him. I think he can develop a lot,” said Deila.
