Tottenham latest, 'disquiet' over team selection, team news ahead of Brighton clash

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Tuesday evening.

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor is set to be available against Brighton in the Capital One Cup tie at White Hart Lane tomorrow night, as Spurs look to bounce back from a disappointing loss in the league to Newcastle by booking their place in the last eight of the competition.

The London Evening Standard reports that Adebayor was playing with a stomach upset against Newcastle, and have reported that the club are confident he will play tomorrow.

Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino revealed that Kyle Naughton is available after an ankle injury he sustained at the start of the month, and Federico Fazio can return to the side after suspension.

The Standard has also reported that there is some 'disquiet' over Pochettino's selection at White Hart Lane, but midfielder Christian Eriksen has said the side are still trying to adapt to Pochettino's style of play following a stuttering start to the season.

He said: “As players, we are all trying to adapt to Mauricio’s new style of play and we won’t know everything straight away. It is still a work in progress but, hopefully, we won’t take too long to get it right.

“We could have done better in some games. We have had some good results but some disappointing defeats too, although it is easy to forget that we are still working with a new manager.

Tottenham are interested in bringing in Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez according to reports

There was speculation linking Rodriguez with a reunion with Pochettino in the summer. He has yet to play a game this season as he continues to recover from a serious knee injury he picked up towards the end of last season.
