Evra's injury blow

Juventus defender Patrice Evra is facing around a month out of action with an injury sustained in training.

Patrice Evra faces a frustrating spell on the sidelines after tests revealed that a thigh injury will require a significant amount of recuperation.

The French international left Manchester United for Juventus in the summer after eight years at Old Trafford and has already shown his value to the Old Lady.

But the 33-year-old had to sit and watch Juventus beat Palermo at the weekend and it has been confirmed that an injury he picked up in training last week is relatively severe.

Tests have shown evidence of a tear in his left thigh, which is a problem that won't heal particularly quickly.

Evra will require complete rest and could be out for more than a month, creating something of a defensive crisis for Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri, who was already dealing with injuries to Andrea Barzagli and Martin Caceres.

The news will be a disappointment to Evra, who has been settling in well in Serie A and is looking to establish himself as a regular starter in a title chasing side.
