A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.
Bertrand has been a key part of a Saints backline, which has been one of the best in the Premier League this season.
“It is one of them things where I’ve got to wait and see, but, for me, there’s no reason why not (move to Southampton permanently), to be honest,” said the left-back.
Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Diego Costa is over the illness, which recently saw him confined to hospital.
The boss says that the Spaniard didn’t play against Manchester United because of his hamstring problem.
“The virus is fine. It was hard, he had to go to the hospital and obviously it doesn't help him to recover from his injury. But he didn't play on Sunday because of the injury, not because of the virus,” said Mourinho.
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been left frustrated by the draw at Manchester United last weekend.
The Belgian has implied that Chelsea were the better team and deserved to extend their lead at the top of the table.
“Of course it was frustrating because we controlled the game. But the table says we are the team to catch, that's true,” he said.
