Cheikhou Kouyate has been singing the praises of West Ham United teammate Diafra Sakho.
Senegal international striker Sakho joined the London club from French outfit Metz in the summer transfer window and has taken to the Premier League club a duck to water.
The 24-year-old has scored six goals in seven league appearances and has been key in West Ham’s truly great start to the 2014-15 Premier League campaign.
Fellow Senegal international Kouyate, who himself joined West Ham in the summer, has now hailed Sakho.
‘I am really happy for him and I hope, for him, that he's going to continue like that’, he told West Ham’s official website. ‘We owe Diafra a thank you!...
‘Diafra's unreal, that's his level. He continues to surprise me and surprise everyone. I know very well that he can do better still and he's going to carry on scoring!’.
It would be fair to say that not many Premier League followers would have rated Sakho very highly when he moved to West Ham in the summer.
After all, the striker was joining a mid-table English top-flight club from a modest French outfit. However, Sakho’s success so far this season is proof that underrated and relatively obscure players can produce the goods.
