West Ham United co-chairman David Gold says that Alex Song’s season-long loan deal from Barcelona could be made permanent, while insisting that there have been no bids for Andy Carroll.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has revealed that Alex Song could be signed on a permanent contract.

The 27-year-old defensive midfielder joined the Hammers on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

The former Arsenal star has been hugely impressive for West Ham so far this season and has been a key reason behind their rise up the Premier League table.

Gold has now stated that there is a possibility that Song could remain at the Boleyn Ground beyond next summer.

One player who has been linked with a move away from West Ham is Andy Carroll. The England international striker is currently out with injury and is expected to return to competitive action next month.

There have been suggestions that West Ham could let go of the player they signed from Liverpool on a permanent deal in the summer of 2013.

However, Gold has said that there have been no offers for the former Newcastle United star.
