Arsenal star Mathieu Flamini has hailed the performances of Alexis Sanchez
Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has hailed new boy Alexis Sanchez for living up to the hype.
The Chilean scored both goals in the 0-2 win at Sunderland, continuing an impressive run of form.
When he signed, his arrival was lauded by fans and pundits alike as one of the signings of the summer, and his early form suggests such praise was well placed.
Teammate Flamini told Arsenal.com: "I'm very pleased to play with such a good player.
"He's played very well until now. We knew he was a top player and he's proving it in every game.
"I think he's giving a lot for the team - not only because he's making the difference offensively, but he's also working hard for the team."
While other star signings made in the past like Jose Reyes, Andrei Arshavin and Mesut Ozil have struggled and even failed to adjust, Alexis Sanchez is making it all look easy.
His pace and technique, coupled with hard work, like Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, has made the transition from La Liga to the Premier League look comfortable for him.
Fellow midfielder Mikel Arteta has also praised the Chilean, commenting: "His confidence is high. Physically he's better, you can see that by the runs he was making in the 93rd minute, [when he] chased the keeper and kept going.
"That's all about him - he wants to keep going, he wants to improve and he's doing very well.”
Even at £30 million, with seven goals and three assists to his name in all competitions this season, he appears to be real value for money, and earning the respect of his teammmates.
