Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will be hoping for a more comfortable evening at the office than in the last round the Reds featured in the League Cup.
That win against Middlesbrough saw Liverpool win after scoring 14 penalties and Rodgers will want a more definitive win after normal time heading into the match against Swansea City.
It’s a game which is likely to see Rodgers make a number of changes to the starting side, as he presents players with a chance to try and earn themselves a starting place on a more frequent basis.
It’s also a chance for the boss to rest key players ahead of a potential quarter-final tie but also important Champions League and Premier League games heading into a busy winter fixture list.
Here is the potential starting line-up for Liverpool for the League Cup game against Swansea.
Liverpool: Jones, Manquillo, Skrtel, Toure, Enrique, Can, Henderson, Allen, Rossiter, Markovic, Lambert
