Marcos Rojo has revealed that the Manchester United hierarchy are keeping constant tabs on Portuguese winger Nani, who moved to Sporting Lisbon on loan as part of the deal that saw the Argentine international move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils may have allowed Nani to leave during the summer window, but the 27-year-old could still be in Louis van Gaal’s plans. Marcos Rojo, formerly of Sporting, told The Mirror: “The people here at Manchester United are always asking me about Nani.
“They ask if he scores goals, whether he’s playing regularly and playing well in that position. They are very attentive to the work of Nani.”
After a nightmare debut on his return to the Lisbon outfit, Nani's form has improved drastically. He netted a goal against Schalke in the Champions League in mid-week, taking his season tally to five in eight games.
Manchester United purchased the Portuguese international back in the summer of 2007 with the prediction that he would develop into the ‘next Cristiano Ronaldo’.
During his time with the Manchester outfit he has provided the Old Trafford faithful with some amazing displays of skill, but he has been unable to maintain his form on a regular basis..
Now back at Sporting Lisbon, he is showcasing why the Red Devils forked out huge sums of money for his services all those years ago.
